Ephesians 5:18. Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.
Habakkuk 2:15-16. Woe to him who gives his neighbor drink, pouring your inflaming wine until they are drunk, so that you may gaze at their naked bodies! You are filled with shame, and not glory.
Isaiah 5:11. Woe to those who rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; who stay late into the night, until wine inflames them!
Isaiah 5:22. Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and champions at mixing strong drink.
Isaiah 28:1. Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley of those who are overcome with wine!
Luke 21:33-34. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away. So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly.”
Proverbs 20:1. Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise.
Proverbs 23:20-21. Don’t be among ones drinking too much wine, or those who gorge themselves on meat: for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags.
Proverbs 23:31-35. Don’t look at the wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly. In the end, it bites like a snake, and poisons like a viper. Your eyes will see strange things, and your mind will imagine confusing things. Yes, you will be as he who lies down in the middle of the sea, or as he who lies on top of the rigging: “They hit me, and I was not hurt! They beat me, and I don’t feel it! When will I wake up? I can do it again. I can find another.”
1 Thessalonians 5:7-8. Those who sleep, sleep in the night, and those who are drunk are drunk in the night. But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
