Father

Colossians 3:20-21. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, don’t provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged.

Ephesians 6:4. You Fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Hebrews 12:9-10. We had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live? For they indeed, for a few days, punished us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.

Hosea 11:3-4. I taught Ephraim to walk. I took them by his arms; but they didn’t know that I healed them. I drew them with cords of a man, with ties of love; and I was to them like those who lift up the yoke on their necks; and I bent down to him and I fed him.

Job 29:16. I was a father to the needy.

John 14:1-2. Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.

Malachi 2:10. Don’t we all have one father? Hasn’t one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers?

Matthew 7:9-11. Who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Matthew 23:9. Call no man on the earth your father, for one is your Father, he who is in heaven.

Romans 8:15. You didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

Proverbs 1:8. My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching: for they will be a garland to grace your head, and chains around your neck.

Proverbs 20:20.
Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness.

1 Thessalonians 2:11-12. As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children, to the end that you should walk worthily of God, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory.
