Foolishness

Ecclesiastes 10:12-14. The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but a fool is swallowed by his own lips. The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness; and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. A fool also multiplies words.

Galatians 3:2-3. Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?

Matthew 7:26-27. Everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.

Proverbs 12:15-16. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel. A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent.

Proverbs 14:29. He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.

Proverbs 26:6. One who sends a message by the hand of a fool is cutting off feet and drinking violence.

Proverbs 26:8. As one who binds a stone in a sling, so is he who gives honor to a fool.

Proverbs 26:12. Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

1 Corinthians 1:27-29. God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong; and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are: that no flesh should boast before God.

1 Timothy 6:9-11.
Those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.
