JSJ ~ the Way

TalkToTheWord encourages all disciples to live the Great Commission of being in the world and showing God's love to those in need - regardless of whether they are believers.

Zechariah taught us to show kindness and compassion. Micah told us that God requires us to act justly and to love mercy. And Jesus said,

If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.

Matthew 19:21

Jesus required a willingness to give before a willingness to follow. He didn't commission us to elect Christian politicians who would legislate God's will. He asked us to go down on our knees with those who need help and show God's love to the needy. Jesus will return to create a perfect government - in the meantime we are asked to do what He did for the World: become like those in need, to reach them where they are at.

Following are a number of serious, confronting issues in the world today which disciples could engage with. It is in in alphabetical order because we cannot say which is more important to you and it is in no way comprehensive - the Holy Spirit will guide you in all things.

Under each video is a website where you can lean more and join others assisting in these areas. We encourage believers to engage with non-Christian organisations because it is one way to get into the world and show we are demonstrating God's love, not because we are obeying God or gaining points by converting people, but because we are like God - we genuinely care about the needy.
